IDP is a mechanical engineering class taken at Seattle University where teams of 5-6 mechanical engineering students in their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years collaborate to create a design given a certain prompt.
Role
Team Lead, Project Manager, Solar Energy Design
This design used solar energy to power a reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment system. The solar panels will power a pump that moves seawater into RO filters. The filtered water and brine byproduct will then be stored in two separate tanks. This design was built for use in underdeveloped locations near a large supply of seawater.
